texture tuesday || free and easy

... hope for spring

winter will not let go, or so it seems ...

so many are wondering if spring will ever get here,

and now with a new winter storm marching across our part of the country,

unlike many of you, i am hoping that maybe,

... just maybe

we will have one final and beautiful snow fall.

spring will be here soon enough and for those of you who are

anxiously awaiting the warmer days, take heart

... there's no need to doubt!

well, it's time again for another creative week at kim's cafe for texture tuesday ...

i could spend hours driving in the country and photographing barns of all shapes and sizes.

i chose this for the week's challenge.

first i converted the image to black and white, tweaked the contrast, and lighting,

after which i applied Kim's texture 'subtly yours' ...

set on overlay at 100% ...

it was easy peasy ... just as kim had asked for!

hope you'll come join us ...

... a look back

another aspect of my photography, that i so enjoy doing,

is going to the living history museum and

seeing what memories from the past that i could capture for the present.

i'll be sharing more in the coming days and i do hope you enjoy the walk back!

as you can see, this is a dining room,

with some very pretty, and unique, plates, cups and saucers ...

ones that i wouldn't mind having in my own cupboard!

off to the side, over hot embers in the rather large fireplace,

they were cooking some of the fall harvest to feed those who work, and basically live there.

i often think of how difficult everyday life was for them in the beginning,

and how fortunate and blessed we are today!

i wanted to share both black and white and color versions of this image.

can't decide which i like better ... can you?

hope you all have a wonderful week ...

it's snowing here again ...

but i don't really mind at all!

spring will soon be here, without a doubt!

blessings,
deborah xoxo
